Cincinnati's premier Salsa Band, Son del Caribe performed this Saturday, Sept. 9th, in Indianapolis' red hot new club: The COZY, (formerly the Blue Cactus), 20 North Pennsylvania Ave.

This new place for the new Salseros is fantastic, with a HUGE wooden dance floor. It was so much fun to be there.

This weekend, August 26-27, Su Casa was celebrating its 13th Annual Su Casa Hispanic Fest, presented by La Jornada Latina. This is Cincinnati's first Latino Festival, and has been the biggest and most popular for 13 years. With estimated 22,000 people attending, it’s definitely the one to compare to. Moreover, it is staffed exclusively by volunteers and its proceeds are used solely for the benefit of the Hispanic community. The Hispanic Fest was selected by “City Beat” as the best ethnic fiesta in Cincinnati.

This year we had for the first time the Mercy's Health Pavilion offering free health checks, e.g. blood pressure or diabetes.

The 2nd Annual International Fiesta was a great success! The weather was fantastic, and the performers were mesmerizing. The feedback that we've heard over and over again was: "Wow, we never knew that Cincinnati has so much to offer, that there are so many talented international artists in the city".

Mayor Mark Mallory honored us with his presence and proclaimed August 12th an "International Day" in Cincinnati.

We would like to thank all volunteers, supporters, and participating artists - without you this festival could not happen. Our special thanks go to Nancy & Bill Stiefvater for their tremendous support!!!

We also would like to thank our sponsors: US Bank, The Spanish Journal, Radio La Ley, LULAC, and CityBeat
