The Cincinnati Art Museum is expanding its public tour offerings this summer with monthly tours offered in Spanish, beginning June 17.

Both an Art Museum docent and a member of the Hispanic Chamber Cincinnati USA will co-lead each tour, with the docent touring in English and the Chamber member translating into Spanish. The tours focus on highlights from throughout the Art Museum’s diverse permanent collection of art.

“Many of our neighbors in the greater Cincinnati area speak Spanish, and we are pleased to offer them a new way to access and enjoy the Art Museum’s permanent collection,” said Cindy Fink, director of external relations and marketing for the Art Museum.

In addition to the public Spanish tours, the Art Museum provides private tours for Spanish, French and German speakers and for the visually impaired with advance notice.

The Spanish-language tours will be offered on June 17 at 2 p.m., July 8 at 3 p.m., August 12 at 2 p.m. and Sept. 2 at 2 p.m. Admission is free! For more information, call (513) 721-ARTS or visit

Dayton's Latin Thursdays continued this week in Dayton! DJ Danny D from Miami Beach, FL, was spinning Salsa/Merengue at Sharkeys Poolside (Marriott Hotel), Dayton's hottest summer spot.

Yes, it was raining in the beginning, but that didn't stop local Salseros to come and support the event. When the rain stopped, they were rewarded by nice relaxing evening with hot Latin music.

MidwestLatino was featured in May's edition of "The Bottom Line", a monthly publication of NSHMBA (National Society of Hispanic MBAs)

NSHMBA was created in 1988 as a 501(C)(3) non-profit organization. Widely known as the "Premier Hispanic Organization," NSHMBA serves 29 chapters and 6,500 members in the U.S. and Puerto Rico. It exists to foster Hispanic leadership through graduate management education and professional development. NSHMBA works to prepare Hispanics for leadership positions throughout the U.S., so that they can provide the cultural awareness and sensitivity vital in the management of the nation’s diverse workforce.

2006 is a very important year for the Cincinnati chapter of NSHMBA, as it will host the 17th Annual National Conference of this organization. There are over 7,000 Hispanic MBA's expected to come to the conference, and with this number this will be definitely the biggest gathering of Hispanic professionals in history of Cincinnati.

To become member of NSHMBA, please contact our Cincinnati chapter's Vice President of Membership, Juan Lazarde.
