The Cityfolk Festival in Dayton, OH brings a world of traditional music and dance to RiverScape MetroPark on June 29 - July 1, 2007, incl. several performers with hot Latin rhythms.

On Friday, we had Ricardo Lemvo & Makina Loca. Born in the Congo and now living in Los Angeles, acclaimed singer and band leader Ricardo Lemvo has been hailed by critics as the “future of salsa” for his red-hot fusion of African and Latin music. Ricardo Lemvo & Makina Loca will perform again on Saturday. While you're at the Festival, don't miss the "Latin Arts Marketplace" organized by Latin American Association.

The Salsa After-Party on Friday was in Dayton's #1 Club for Latin Music: Club Rain

On Sunday Rob Curto’s Forró for All  will delight fans of Brazilian Music. Founded by New York accordion virtuoso Rob Curto, Forró For All plays the highly irresistible dance music of northeastern Brazil known as forró pé de serra, an energetic blend of Afro-Brazilian percussion and European dance music of the late 1800s, specifically polkas, waltzes and mazurkas.

Also on Sunday, we’ll have Son del Caribe, a top Salsa band from Cincinnati. which is widely acknowledged by both dancers and listeners as the top salsa band in Ohio, with an exciting and very danceable pan-Caribbean and pan-American sound that includes not only salsa but also such styles of Latin dance music as merengue, cumbia and bomba.
