"Nuestro Rincon" will be moving from being broadcasted on TV, to Internet. The last TV broadcast will be on May 27th.
After that date, you'll be able to watch "Nuestro Rincon" daily on the Local12 Web channel: www.local12.com as a Local 12 News En Español. This is part of a station-wide effort to provide viewers with local news and information whenever and however they want it.
Local 12 News En Español represents another important step in Local 12’s transformation from a traditional television broadcaster to a multi-platform content caster. “Our recent success in using our web-channel to reach Cincinnati viewers day and night has proven that our community wants local news and information as fast as possible,” said General Manager Christopher Sehring. “And though we are extremely proud of Nuestro Rincon -- the region’s first Spanish-language news program -- we were aware that its early morning weekend time slot limited our ability to provide timely news and information. Local 12 News En Español represents the natural evolution from an excellent but little-seen weekend news magazine show to a daily web cast – available whenever our viewers want it.”
As the Tri-State’s news leader, Local 12 News is refocusing its efforts to reach the Latino community as part of a sweeping newsroom effort to provide more content for the station’s new digital platforms. “Nuestro Rincon will transition from a weekend-only broadcast to a daily content commitment via our web site,” said Elbert Tucker, Local 12’s News Director. “Our goal is to reach more people with stories which are more current.”
Local 12 News En Español will debut on Local12.com on May 26, 2007. This Spanish language web-site will feature video webcasts as well as a wealth of written content gleaned from Local 12’s daily newsgathering resources. Local 12 En Espanol webcasts will also be made available to the Ohio News Network and to all Clear Channel television stations.
