The Academy of World Languages (http://awl.cps-k12.org) is getting ready to host its 2013 Annual International Festival

AWL is a Cincinnati Public School where students from over 40 countries from around the world learn Chinese, Arabic, Russian Japanese or English as a Second Language. 

The date is set for Saturday, May 18, and everybody is invited to participate and support. So please spread the word to all international groups and let us know if you or your group would like to participate.

We have every Friday a Salsa party @ Whisky Bar! With DJ Rudy Alvarez!

On Feb. 22nd, we had our first Salsa Party with a live Salsa Band, and it was AWESOME! The Whisky Bar has definitely the best dance floor for Salsa dancing!

And Son del Caribe did a fantastic job playing the best of Salsa music!

“A Story of Never Ending Passion!” Told through Dance, Music and Song

A blend of the artistry of Tango dancing and the beautiful sound of music from Argentina, Tango Des-parada offers a sweet delight for the senses. For two nights at The Carnegie Visual and Performing Arts Center at 1028 Scott Blvd. Covington, KY, you will take a journey down the streets of Buenos Aires. Presented by the Argentine Tango Society, there will be two shows performed on March 15 and 16, 2013 at 8pm. You will see several Tango Dance performances as well as musical numbers played by Professional Musicians and Vocalists. Richard Scofano on bandoneon with Concert-Nova musicians and vocalist Patricia Paz, will perform a selection of the most famous Argentine Tangos 

There will also be a Tango Milonga (Social) after the March 16th performance at The Carnegie. Please call the The Carnegie at 859-957-1940 or order your tickets ($20) online at the The Carnegie website www.TheCarnegie.com

 
 All are performing in memory of a dear friend, Virginia Malton. Proceeds will benefit organizations in Greater Cincinnati to help promote Argentine Tango Dancing and arts education. This show will leave you with a theatrical experience you will not soon forget .

Our new city video will debut on Fountain Square tonight at 5 pm.

American Idol's Eben Franckewitz will be there to sing. Join us!

To promote Cincinnati and the World Choir Games, Laure Quinlivan, member of Cincinnati's City Council, produced a music video starring celebrities with strong Cincinnati ties. The video premiere is Thursday, May 31 at 5 pm on Fountain Square's big screen, with performances by local choirs and American Idol Finalist Eben Franckewitz. I hope you will come! The City that Sings branding effort includes billboards at the airport, a wall mural by the Purple People Bridge and signage on 500 flower pots throughout the City. The City Council voted 9-0 to support this initiative to brand us as The City that Sings. 

Famous celebrities with ties to Cincinnati star in this music video produced by Cincinnati Council Member Laure Quinlivan. Cincinnati is host of the World Choir Games, proud to be The City that Sings!
