Toledo: La Mafia (Saturday, March 22nd)
#1
Dear Community Member or Business Leader,

As the President of the Latino Student Union (LSU) at The University of Toledo I would like to cordially invite you to the 35th Annual Latino Student Union Scholarship Dance, which will be held on Saturday March 22, 2008, from 8:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. in the Student Union Auditorium.

The Latino Student Union (formally known as MEChA) received Official recognition as a student organization by The University of Toledo in 1973. Since then, LSU has played an essential role in producing experienced and dynamic professionals of our community. LSU organizes this scholarship event every year to aid its members with the financial demands of college. Because of the generosity of community organizations like yours, students have overcome the financial barriers that could normally prevent them from completing their degrees.

With our goal of raising money for our scholarship fund in mind, we are writing to ask for your financial support.  Your contribution will promote the successes of our student members and allow us to continue to pursue our dreams of making a better future for us and the community.  Because of the popularity of our entertainment, we are hoping to fill our venue to capacity.  Oscar De La Rosa and La Mafia will headline the evening with Grupo Dezeo providing the local entertainment.   This line up certainly raises the bar for our event!

Growing every year, the Latino Student Union members form life long relationships. The history of LSU is taught to all new members which cultivates a sense of pride and honor among our members. LSU is known to be a group in which its members feel secure, independent, and strong. One of our goals is to teach others about the Latino culture through events and services at The University of Toledo and the surrounding community. Most importantly, LSU serves as a thriving study group that keeps academics at the forefront of everything.

Please help us to continue this tradition by making a monetary donation to help with the expense of providing such entertainment of this caliber or by being a sponsor of our scholarship dance that contributes directly to the scholarship fund. Please refer to the enclosed form as it details the various levels of sponsorship or donation.

For more information feel free to contact either myself or any member of the Executive Board at the Latino Student Union Office @ 419 530 4326.

Le anticipo mi agradecimiento.

Sinceramente,

Jose Lopez
President
Latino Student Union
