The amazing Justa Xinico was speaking on Saturday, Nov. 11th, at the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center. Justa is a Guatemalan indigenous woman, mother, teacher, principal and community leader who Guatemalan newspapers describe as a “tireless, passionate advocate for her people” (click here for more info). She was speaking about her culture and her lifelong efforts to improve education for schoolchildren in her community. To see Justa's other engagements, click here...

She is here invited by Cooperative for Education, a Cincinnati based non-profit organization dedicated to breaking the cycle of poverty in Guatemala by providing textbooks and educational opportunities to under-privileged schoolchildren.
